The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) tourism police have not received their salaries for the last six months. Given the emergence of the issue, a Call for Attention Notice has been presented in the Provincial Assembly.
The notice is a document used in official bodies to draw the attention of the minister to a matter of urgent public importance. It has been jointly presented in the assembly by PML-N members Shoubiya Shahid and Suresh Kumar, PPP members Ashbar Jadun, Garpal Singh and Bahari Lal, along with Askar Parvez of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI).
According to the notice, the KP Tourism Police is facing numerous financial, administrative and professional difficulties due to non-payment of salaries. Affected staff are also facing emotional and mental distress over the issue, and say they have also not been provided with a formal service structure, increasing uncertainty about their future.

The notice submitted states that the Tourism Police contract expired on May 1, 2025, but former Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had announced in a Board of Directors meeting that the employees in question would be made permanent. However, this announcement was never implemented.
Furthermore, the notice maintains that a one-time temporary extension law was passed in the Provincial Assembly but was never implemented, which is unfair to staff.
Lawmakers have therefore sought permission to discuss the matter to ensure staff their legitimate rights, addressing their anxiety and discontent.
