On behalf of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, a petition has been filed in the Islamabad High Court seeking permission to undergo medical tests and examinations at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital every month.

The petition was filed through Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. It asks the court to issue directions allowing the former prime minister to receive regular medical check-ups at Shaukat Khanum, “in accordance with his medical history and current state of health.”

The petition names Secretary, Punjab Home Department, Inspector General of Prisons, Superintendent of Adiala Jail, Medical Superintendent and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital as respondents.

The petitioner has asked the court to order that the medical teams have full access to the PTI founder and that the monthly examination reports be shared with both his family and the court.

The statement claimed that the PTI founder, former prime minister, is facing “certain medical problems” and requires specialized care. He also alleges that he was convicted “by order of the current government as part of political victimization.”

It further maintains that to ensure justice and proper treatment, the former prime minister “should be provided with better medical facilities, preferably through Shaukat Khanum Hospital.”
