Surprise! Netflix has released a new video Kpop Demon Hunters‘The incredibly popular musical group HUNTR/X, but some skeptical viewers think it has been created using artificial intelligence (AI).
Released today (December 3), the 10-second clip shows the trio thanking fans for listening to the Netflix hit movie’s soundtrack on Spotify throughout 2025. Initially, the video, which you can watch below, was only available to users whose top artist of the year was HUNTR/X. However, in the hours since the release of Spotify Wrapped 2025, it has appeared on social media platforms including X/Twitter and Reddit.

With this year’s edition of Spotify Wrapped launching on December 3, we have a somewhat clearer picture of how often we collectively listen Kpop Demon Hunters‘ Incredibly catchy songs. And we certainly pass them on. A lot.
Considering how obsessed we’ve been with Kpop Demon Hunters Since its release on June 20 on the world’s best streaming service, no one should be surprised by the popularity of its soundtrack.
Still, the fact that the film’s record-breaking LP was played more times than new albums by pop superstars including Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish is testament to the film’s impact on the cultural zeitgeist.
For many, this “thank you” message from HUNTR/X will be seen as an endearing surprise as they review the Spotify Wrapped 2025 results. However, some fans have questioned how the clip was made, with some labeling it as AI-generated content.
In separate threads on the Kpop Demon Hunters sub-Reddit, plus one that appeared on ResetEra, some people expressed doubts about the validity of this clip and suggested that AI was used to create it. In fact, users have pointed out a split-second delay between the voice-only audio and the movement of Rumi, Zoey, and Mira’s mouths, Zoey was awkwardly interrupted by Mira, and Zoey’s voice was higher pitched than normal.
That’s not to say that this video is, as the kids say, AI garbage. It’s possible that if Spotify asked for a shout-out from HUNTR/X, Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation would have to put together something last minute. So, it can be argued that this could have been released quickly without much quality assurance (QA) testing.
However, there is an uncanny valley element to the clip, so I can understand why some people might think it’s AI-generated. I’ve contacted Netflix, Sony and Spotify to confirm if the footage is genuine and will let you know if I hear back.
In the meantime, if you’re not tired of watching one of the best Netflix movies of all time, you can stream Kpop Demon Hunters on Netflix right now. Its soundtrack is also available on Spotify, Apple Music, and other top music streaming services.
