- Apple’s 2025 App Store Award winners are official
- There are 17 winners between applications, games and cultural impact
- Includes selections for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV.
Two weeks after announcing the App of the Year finalists, and just one day after the launch of Spotify Wrapped, Apple has officially revealed the winners of the 2025 App Store Awards. The Cupertino-based tech giant named 17 platform winners across three categories: apps, games, and cultural impact.
We’ve already seen many of them in our summary of the finalists, but the winners reflect the rise and abundance of AI. In many cases, they showcase simple-looking applications that combine a unique, fluid design with genuine functionality that solves a problem or sometimes even provides an escape route.
Take Tiimo, the iPhone app of the year, for example. It comes as an AI planner and to-do app that helps you visualize your day and stay on track with your tasks. Details, the iPad app of the year, aims to go beyond the classic slash-and-edit approach to video editing by letting you describe your desired outcome and have AI do the work for you.
Apple continues to name one App and Game of the Year for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro, as well as one Apple Arcade Game of the Year and six Cultural Impact winners.
Below, we look at the winners across all categories and give you a quick way to download them, plus a few more highlights, from the App Store…
App Store Award Winners 2025: The Complete List
As with the 2024 App Store Awards, there’s a lot of AI front and center or subtly powering the experience behind many of the apps.
One notable difference this year is that instead of F1 TV taking home Apple TV App of the Year, the honor goes to HBO Max, which debuted a new navigation bar in 2025, and of course there’s the added context that F1 will begin streaming in the US on Apple TV next year.
Cyberpunk 2077: Definitive Edition is a standout Game of the Year for Mac, especially considering the lengthy development process required to bring it to the platform. CD Projekt Red took full advantage of the game development tools built into macOS to ensure the game runs smoothly on any Apple silicon Mac, though naturally, more power still improves the experience.
Personally, I wish I had Essayist, or at least a version of it, when I was in school. It automates the sometimes painful process of generating appropriate citations in a wide range of formats for academic articles, powered, as you might imagine, by some AI on the backend.
From Cultural Impact winners, Be My Eyes combines the power of everyday volunteers with AI to help people with low vision or blindness complete everyday tasks, such as identifying objects or providing quick visual descriptions.
Apple Vision Pro remains the newest device in Apple’s lineup, and Apple named Explore POV the app of the year and Nubi Gate the Game of the Year for the platform. Explore POV lets you immerse yourself in faraway destinations, while Nubi Gate Overlay your real-world environment with fantastic puzzles.
