Seven police officers of the Saudabad Driving Licensing Branch have been suspended over allegations of corruption and dereliction of duty.
Sindh Inspector General (IG) Ghulam Nabi Memon took swift action after receiving reports of malpractices.
The suspended personnel include Inspector Ashraf Ali Soomro, Inspector Saeed Muhammad Shah, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Siddiq Memon, Principal Secretary Muhammad Asif Ali, Deputy Sub-Inspectors Muhammad Panah and Shahid Ali, and Head Constable Shehzad Gul.
Quetta introduces international driving license
Quetta has officially started issuing international driving licenses, marking an important step in the modernization of the region’s transportation systems.
The initiative was launched with a surprise visit by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti to the Highway Police Driving License Center in Quetta.
During the visit, the Chief Minister not only inspected the process but also expressed his intention to obtain an International Driving License.
He successfully passed the theoretical and practical driving exams, submitting his license application. After passing the tests, your application was sent to Islamabad for further processing.
In a statement, the Chief Minister of Balochistan praised the efficient and transparent system of Highway Police, terming it a reflection of public trust.
He praised the National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) for adhering to international standards in issuing driving licences, which has helped restore public confidence.
He also praised the efforts of the NHMP in ensuring a safe travel system and highlighted the importance of having a modern and transparent licensing system for the public. “This system is a testament to the capabilities of the NHMP and their professionalism has ensured the success of the project,” said Sardar Fazal Baloch.
The launch of the international driving license in Quetta is expected to benefit a wide range of drivers, improving mobility and connectivity while aligning with global driving and road safety standards.
