I am very glad that I managed to complete today’s quest without resorting to any clues, because I know absolutely nothing about the “world of Tolkein”, since I have never seen/read anything of the lord of the rings either hobbit movies/books.
That said, I should know something, as I found the very mediocre MIDDLE EARTH spangram almost immediately, quickly followed by the top half of the grid.
Fortunately, other than SHIRE and RING, all the words seemed pretty common in the fantasy genre.
