ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad High Court (IHC) Judge Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan is on a long medical leave, which has led to significant changes in the court’s structure.
IHC Chief Judge Mohsin Akhtar Kayani has taken charge of a division bench after a long gap, while Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz’s single bench has been dissolved and a special bench comprising her and Justice Babar Sattar has now been constituted.
The shift list has been published for the judges who will hear the cases next week. Eight individual benches, four division benches and one special division bench will be available for hearings.
The apex bench will consist of Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Azam Khan. The second division bench, comprising Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, will hear the criminal appeals.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan, due to health reasons, is on leave and will not be part of the special division court. Justice Saman has been included in the special division court headed by Justice Babar Sattar, replacing Justice Ejaz Ishaq Khan. This court will hear tax cases.
The fourth division court will consist of Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas, while the fifth division court will be headed by Justice Khadim Hussian Soomro and Justice Muhammad Asif will be its second member.
