He says the minister’s comment was an attempt to defame Pakistan and divert attention from India’s own regional conduct.
The Ministry of External Affairs has categorically rejected the Indian External Affairs Minister’s recent comments against the Pakistan Army, calling them “highly inflammatory, baseless and irresponsible”.
The response came a day after India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, while addressing a public forum in New Delhi, accused the Pakistani military, saying that “many of our problems emanate from the Pakistani military.”
In a statement, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan views the Indian minister’s claims as an attempt to defame the country and divert attention from India’s own regional conduct.
“Pakistan categorically rejects and condemns the highly inflammatory, baseless and irresponsible comments made by the External Affairs Minister of India in his recent statement,” the press release said.
Andrabi maintained that Pakistani institutions, including its armed forces, have repeatedly demonstrated professionalism and commitment to national security. “Pakistan is a responsible State and all its institutions, including the armed forces, are a pillar of national security, dedicated to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said.
Referring to the May 2025 conflict, he added that it “vividly demonstrated the professionalism of the Pakistani armed forces as well as their determination to defend the homeland and people of Pakistan against any Indian aggression in an appropriate, effective but responsible manner.”

He stressed that “no amount of propaganda can disprove this truth.”
The spokesperson accused the Indian government of carrying out a selective smear campaign to divert attention from what Pakistan describes as India’s own destabilizing role. “Attempts by Indian leaders to defame Pakistan’s state institutions and its leaders are part of a propaganda campaign designed to distract from India’s destabilizing actions in the region and beyond, as well as state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan,” the statement said.
He warned that such “inflammatory rhetoric only exemplifies the extent of India’s disregard for friendship, peace and stability in our region.”
The statement also criticizes India’s domestic political climate, urging New Delhi to address what Pakistan sees as dangerous ideological trends. “Instead of making misleading comments about Pakistan’s armed forces, India must investigate the fascist and revisionist Hindutva ideology that has unleashed a reign of mob justice, lynchings, arbitrary arrests and demolition of properties and places of worship,” Andrabi said, adding that the Indian state and its leaders “have become hostages to this terror in the name of religion.”
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace, the spokesperson said the country remains steadfast in defending its sovereignty. “Pakistan believes in coexistence, dialogue and diplomacy. However, it remains united and resolute in its intention and ability to safeguard its interests and sovereignty.”
