Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Metcalf was treated for an abdominal issue after he was hit in the abdomen during the game.

A Steelers spokesperson told NFL Network that Metcalf was taken to a local Baltimore hospital where he spent the night. He reportedly had stomach pains.

Tomlin said Metcalf is progressing well since his injury and is expected to play Monday when Pittsburgh faces the Miami Dolphins.

“It probably got progressively worse after the game and for that I thank our medical experts,” Tomlin said. “We just acted very cautiously. We didn’t want to put him up in the air without having a full understanding of what he was dealing with and they did a good job of that.”

Metcalf was listed as questionable on the injury report.

He has 52 receptions for 753 yards and five touchdowns. His touchdown total this season so far has tied last season. He only played 15 games in 2024.
