Nida Yasir apologizes after controversy over delivery driver

Popular morning show host and former actress Nida Yasir has apologized, saying she is “a human, not an angel,” and that humans sometimes fail to adequately express what they feel or are trying to say.

The television personality said the same thing happened to her when she shared a “bad experience” regarding food delivery drivers.

“My mistake was choosing the wrong words,” he said, adding that such slips are possible in everyday conversations.

Nida, who once again found herself at the center of controversy, said she was extremely sorry and never intended to hurt anyone.

So what exactly happened?

During a live broadcast, while discussing issues related to home delivery services with a guest, the morning show host blamed delivery drivers for deliberately not carrying change to “swindle” extra money from customers.

“Food delivery people would never have the change. You can tip them anyway, but for those who lie about not having the change, I make them wait while my driver brings it,” he had said, proudly describing his way of “teaching the delivery people a lesson” by delaying their next deliveries.

Her comments not only offended people in the industry, but also sparked criticism online from netizens, who accused Nida of lacking empathy toward low-paid workers who spend long hours trying to make ends meet.

Meanwhile, others argued that Nida’s interpretation was misplaced because delivery apps explicitly notify customers to keep the exact quantity ready when placing orders.

After days of online rumors, Nida finally responded to the criticism, insisting that he never intended to hurt anyone or target the entire cycling community. He added that the error occurred “on a live, unrecorded show,” where it could have been edited or clarified.

He said he had shared his “bad experience with passengers” but should have clearly mentioned that “some passengers” follow the practice of not keeping change, not the entire community.

“I’m not here to hurt anyone. I appear on the screen as I am and I have emotions like anyone else. I am a human being, not an angel, and sometimes we fail to convey in words what we have in our hearts and it is interpreted differently.”

She concluded by addressing the cyclists watching her directly and saying that she wanted to sincerely apologize.

“I repeat that not all cyclists are like the ones I mentioned. It was just my experience and I never intended to ignore their struggles or hurt them. Please forgive me for my mistake,” he added.
