Chaos ensued across college football on Wednesday when Michigan fired head coach Sherrone Moore because the school said he had an “inappropriate relationship” with a staff member. He was later jailed amid an “assault investigation.”
Moore’s firing immediately primed the college football coaching carousel once again, just after it seemed like the dust had settled. One name that came up immediately was new LSU Tigers head coach Lane Kiffin.

Kiffin already created consternation for his decision to leave the Ole Miss Rebels for LSU prior to the team’s selection for the College Football Playoffs. Instead of potentially leading the Rebels to glory, he will try to help rebuild LSU into the powerhouse it once was.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy wrote on social media that Michigan should double what LSU paid Kiffin to take the Tigers job. But Kiffin cut the fishing line.

“Instead of @stoolepresidente, #ComeToTheBoot. Together we cannot be defeated,” he wrote.
Portnoy appeared to leave Kiffin hours later when he named some coaches he would like to see take over at Michigan. He named Jon Gruden, Nick Saban, Dan Lanning of Oregon, Jeff Monken of Army, Clark Lea of Vanderbilt, Kenny Dillingham of Arizona State and Deion Sanders of Colorado.
For now, Michigan named Biff Poggi as its interim coach as the team prepares for the Citrus Bowl against the Texas Longhorns.
