Prince William talks £400,000 settlement with 11-year-old boy

Prince William has honored one of the UK’s youngest pioneers, awarding her the youngest-ever MBE title.

He presented Carmela Chillery-Watson with the prestigious honor during an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.

Carmela, who lives with an ultra-rare muscle condition that affects only one in a million children, has spent more than half her life raising money for Muscular Dyscracy UK.

He has launched around 25 fundraising campaigns and raised more than £400,000 for the charity.

All before starting high school.

Speaking after the ceremony, the calm and heroic schoolgirl admitted she had been completely stunned by the news.

“I was speechless,” he said. “I would never have thought I would get an MBE.

“I just wanted to help change communities, but this is absolutely incredible.”

The government believes she is the youngest MBE ever, although officials admit actual records do not go back far enough to confirm this with certainty.

Still, it’s safe to say that children don’t usually receive honors from future kings before lunchtime.

Carmela said Prince William was “very kind” and chatted with her about his charitable work and amazing achievements.

The Prince of Wales seemed genuinely moved by her dedication and resilience.

She was among a notable group of new MBE recipients, including Adjoa Andoh, the acclaimed actress, writer and director celebrated for her role as the formidable Lady Danbury in Bridgerton.

Andoh received his honor for his impressive four decades of contributions to British drama.
