A big blackout
Those Downdetector reports are still going in the wrong direction: we now have over 19,000 reports in the US, with the UK shooting up to over 6,300. So it’s a global disruption, so let’s hope it doesn’t last too long.
There is widespread panic at companies like X as many begin their morning commutes on the US East Coast without their usual soundtracks. However, there is still no official news or recognition from Spotify on the Spotify status account…
Error messages and playback problems
I’m getting the above error message on my Spotify home screen and others are reporting similar issues.
Like many, I’m also having difficulty playing songs that are downloaded for offline listening, while others on Downdetector say they’ve logged out and can’t log back in.
At this time, there hasn’t been any comment on Spotify’s status account on X, but I’ll keep an eye out to see if that changes…
Spotify is down for many
If you’re having trouble with the Spotify mobile app, you’re definitely not alone: thousands of users are reporting problems on Downdetector.
Right now, more than 8,000 people in the US say the app is too slow or can’t play songs other than the ones they’ve downloaded.
It’s a similar case in the UK, where I’m getting “something went wrong” messages and issues with playback. Right now in the UK there are over 3,000 reports and counting.
