- B&H Photo Accidentally Published Initial RDNA 4 Graphics Card Listings
- RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT received a pre-order date of January 23
- That would suggest a late January on-sale date, when Nvidia’s RTX 5080 (and 5090) hit shelves.
AMD’s next-generation RDNA 4 graphics cards, which were revealed (rather fleetingly) at CES 2025, could be available sooner than you thought, at least on pre-orders, if the date accidentally released by a US retailer is revealed. USA turns out to be correct.
Apparently, B&H Photo posted initial listings for some Asus RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT graphics cards (TUF and Prime models), all of which had a pre-order date of January 23.
Those listings have now been removed, but not before one of X’s regular hardware leakers, @momomo_us (tip to VideoCardz), caught them.

So it looks like we could pre-order these long-awaited RDNA 4 graphics cards in just two weeks, presumably ahead of a launch that would come about a week later.
Analysis: Battle of the next-gen desktop GPUs
Interestingly, another recent rumor regarding the RX 9070 release date came from graphics card manufacturer XFX, which has some sort of announcement or launch of these GPUs planned for January 24. One way or another, then, it looks like something is going to happen with RDNA 4 as we reach the last week of January.
It looks like this could be the official reveal of full specs and pricing details (which weren’t shared at CES 2025), ahead of shelf availability (which is why B&H has it up for pre-orders). Obviously, all this must be taken with great caution and, in fact, there is a difference in the dates (January 23 or 24) that casts more doubt on these rumors. It’s true that the XFX rumors come from their Middle East division, but the time difference between that and B&H’s 9am ET pre-order start is still the same day (only).
We’ll have to wait and see, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if AMD was planning to release RDNA 4 and have these graphics cards on shelves by the end of January, because Nvidia’s RTX 5090 and 5080 will go on sale in January. 30. So the dates line up for what could be some sort of big next-gen GPU showdown.
As you may already know, the RX 9070 models won’t compete with Nvidia’s RTX 5080 (and certainly not the 5090), so how exactly is this a “showdown”? Well, the reality is that the RTX 5080 will be too expensive for most consumers, although the $999 MSRP was more affordable than expected. (Yes, some people thought it would easily cost $1,199, maybe more, although third-party boards will inevitably push further into this territory, as most of them will be a bit more expensive than the Founders Edition at Nvidia’s MSRP.)
What we will have, then, is a situation where, in theory, AMD can introduce much more affordable next-generation GPUs, capturing the interest of potential buyers and gaining more sales with RDNA 4 as people realize what expensive that RTX is. 5080, when Nvidia’s $999 Founders Edition inevitably sells out in an instant, they’ll potentially win the showdown this way.
