In the video, a fruit vendor is seen standing next to his rickshaw loaded with bananas when a uniformed traffic guard approaches, picks up a bunch of bananas and places it in a nearby government vehicle. Another guard is also seen holding bananas, after which both officials load the fruit into the official car and leave the place without making any payment to the seller.
The incident was recorded by a passerby and uploaded to social media, quickly drawing public and official attention. Taking immediate notice, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam ordered the suspension of senior traffic director and in-charge Adil, along with director and driver Tasadduq.
Charge sheets were issued and a departmental investigation was launched against the accused. According to the first conclusions, the incident occurred in November during an anti-invasion campaign. They reportedly asked the vendor to remove the rickshaw and then handed him a challan.
