The Game Awards have announced that their 2025 ceremony broke viewership records with an estimated 171 million live streams worldwide from the entire broadcast.
This is across multiple streaming networks including YouTube, Twitch, Steam, TikTok Live,
The show is reported to be up 11% from the 2024 record, which reached 154 million live streams and included full broadcast broadcasts only, not counting associated clips or trailers.
StreamCharts stats report that Twitch, YouTube and other Western platforms peaked at 4.4 million concurrent viewers combined, up 9% from TGA 2024.
The Game Awards on YouTube specifically increased 9% to more than 2.4 million concurrent viewers, which included 8,600 channels co-streaming the ceremony, and generated an 8% increase in peak year-over-year concurrent viewers to nearly 1.4 million.
Meanwhile, Twitch had more than 1.8 million peak concurrent users watching, with total unique viewers up 5% year-over-year, and viewing hours also up 5% from TGA 2024. Co-streaming on the popular platform also hit a record 16,500 streams, up 50% from TGA 2024’s 11,000 co-streams.
If you missed the annual awards ceremony, Sandfall Interactive Dark Glade: Expedition 33which was nominated in 12 categories, made TGA history by taking home nine awards in total, including the coveted Game of the Year award.
