Travis Kelce has become a constant presence in Taylor Swift’s life, and the pop star says their shared careers have made a difference.
In a new episode of his Disney+ docuseries The end of an eraSwift, 36, opened up about how touring once made relationships difficult. “Relationships on tour have always been something I’ve really struggled with because I always felt like touring was taking away from their relationship,” she said.
“Somehow I wasn’t able to do both and I felt like I was nurturing both at the same time, even though I tried and tried and tried and tried.”
That changed when she started dating the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. Swift explained that there was a “dynamic change” because both she and Kelce make their living performing in stadiums.
“We both have jobs where we go out to NFL stadiums and entertain people for three and a half hours,” he said. “Hers is considerably more violent than mine, but she doesn’t wear heels. But it’s our passion. We’ve been pursuing this since we were little kids.”
Swift added, “I don’t think I ever thought I’d meet a guy who had the same trajectory… You can have the two passions coexist and they actually feed off each other.”
The couple has publicly supported each other, and Kelce even joined Swift on stage during her Tour of the eras stop in London. Fans cheered as he danced and helped carry her across the stage at Wembley Stadium.
“Fans absolutely love Travis,” Swift said, adding that Swifties admire “the way he treats me.”
The couple announced their engagement on Instagram on August 26, marking another milestone in a love story that began with a friendship bracelet and a missed encounter.
