Minister of Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar during a meeting with Minister of Culture of Tajikistan Sattoriyon Matlubakhon Amonzoda reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Tajikistan in digital media. Amonzoda is in Islamabad for the two-day Pakistan-Tajik Cultural Festival at Lok Virsa from December 19 to 20.
Tarar said digital media was an important tool for public engagement and cultural outreach.
Both sides emphasized the need to further promote cultural and media cooperation and strengthen people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
They also agreed to work on formal cultural cooperation agreements ahead of a possible visit by the president of Tajikistan to Pakistan.
Tarar said events like the Pakistan-Tajikistan Cultural Festival helped build cultural ties. He also highlighted the long-standing historical and cultural ties the two states share.

He added that Pakistan attaches importance to cultural diplomacy.
Amonzoda said Tajikistan would continue cooperation with Pakistan on cultural exchanges and digital media, adding that shared literary and cultural heritage would be highlighted to support bilateral relations.
The opening ceremony of the cultural festival was attended by Federal Minister of National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Minister of Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, Ambassador of Tajikistan Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir and other officials, diplomats and artists.
