Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders scolded the media Sunday after the team’s close loss to the Buffalo Bills at home.
The rookie faced questions from reporters about the Browns’ coaching decisions. Cleveland fumbled with 5:08 left in the game and then elected to punt the ball with 1:55 left in the game. Both times the Browns were only three points behind.

But Sanders once again navigated difficult waters afterwards. He refused to criticize any coach or player.
“I know you can’t ask me that question,” Sanders said with a smile. “Come on, man. Look, that’s the thing. If we want to change the narrative, if we want to change the franchise, that kind of thing separates us. A lot of players get these kinds of questions. We want to work with all of you. We want to be proactive, but when you ask us players questions and confront each other, it’s like, come on now.

“It’s like something in the locker room. We’re not going to be able to really talk to them. We’re not going to be able to give them what they need because that separates the team, that doesn’t help anything in any situation, no matter how you respond.”
Sanders got off to a good start against the Bills, throwing a touchdown pass on the first series of the game to Harold Fannin Jr. However, he struggled a bit as the Bills defense picked up pace.
He was 20-for-29 with 157 passing yards, one touchdown pass and two interceptions. Both picks came from balls that jumped into the air after a missed catch or were tipped in their release. He was sacked twice in the game.

Sanders has shown flashes of brilliance in his openings and the ability to be a leader with his responses to reporters after games. But Cleveland can’t seem to get out of its losing ways.
