ISLAMABAD:
The NCCIA director-general told a parliamentary panel that the agency faces a serious shortage of trained staff and financial resources.
He revealed that in 2025 alone, the NCCIA received 22,500 complaints, registered 620 cases and obtained only 26 convictions, with one officer handling an average of 565 complaints.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) chairman told the Committee that more than 1.5 million URLs had been blocked during the current year, including thousands related to defamation, phishing and immoral content.
