- Sony WF-1000XM6 headphones leak online again, with listings for black and silver versions
- Replacement pads have been listed on a parts retailer’s website.
- Availability date is February 2026.
We hope Sony never gets into the spy business, because it’s pretty bad at keeping secrets: Unreleased ones have been leaking for months, including on Sony’s own Sound Connect app, and this week one retailer appears to have leaked its color options and imminent availability.
The leak comes from the eagle-eyed folks at The Walkman Blog, who spotted two replacement parts listings for the WF-1000XM6 headphones on the Encompass Parts website. And if those listings are accurate, the launch may be just weeks away.
Sony WF-1000XM6 headphones: what does the latest leak tell us?
Encompass Parts is a specialist retailer offering replacement parts for a wide range of products, and their website details replacement parts for the black and silver versions of the WF-1000XM6.
Interestingly, when I followed the links from the Walkman blog to the corresponding listing pages, a big red X and a page appeared telling me I couldn’t access the website because it was “protected.”[ing] protect yourself from online attacks”, but evidently that was not a problem for The Walkman Blog previously.
While Encompass is busy closing the stable door, The Walkman Blog has screenshots of the horse of the headphones: listings for replacement silicone ear tips for the WF-1000XM6 with a ship date of February 27, 2026. Just nine weeks away.
As always with leaks, there’s still a lot we don’t know, and it’s possible that the date on the product listings is just a placeholder, although if so it’s pretty specific.
If the date is accurate, we might even hear something about the headphones at CES 2026, if not from Sony, then perhaps even more from leaks: If a February shipping date is on the cards, then the headphones will be moving to retailers well in advance, and the more people know about the headphones, the more likely detailed leaks will occur.
If you can’t wait until February, the Sony WF-1000XM5 have been heavily discounted, although in our opinion the flagship headphones that the XM6 will really have to compete with are the superb Technics EAH-AZ100.
