Pluribus Season 2 is officially in the works, Carol. The popular sci-fi mystery drama received a two-season order in September 2022, and the next entry has been in the works for, at press time, just over a month, with the writers’ room set to reconvene in November 2025.
Pluribus Season 2 Release Date: What We Know So Far
Pluribus The release date of season 2 has not been revealed yet. However, as I mentioned above, Apple gave the show a two-season order when it won the rights to Vince Gilligan’s latest TV creation in September 2022. We’ve known for more than three years that another episode would be made.
However, it doesn’t look like we’ll see it for a long time. Speaking to RadioTimes.com in November 2025, Gilligan said the writing team would meet later that month to begin working on their scripts.
Until they are written and approved, filming cannot begin. Best case scenario in my opinion? For a production of this size, if the scripts are complete by early next year, principal photography may begin sometime in mid-to-late 2026. So, at the earliest, Season 2 launches between late 2027 and early 2028.
Pluribus Season 2 Trailer: Is There One?
No. Considering cameras haven’t even started rolling on season 2 yet, there won’t be one for a long time either.
Once a trailer is finally released, I’ll update this section, but don’t expect that to happen until 2027.
Pluribus season 2 probable cast
Spoilers follow Pluribus season 1.
Here’s who I hope to see again in Pluribus season 2:
- Rhea Seehorn as Carol Sturka
- Karolina Wydra as Zosia
- Carlos Manuel Vesga as Manousos Oviedo
- Samba Schutte as Koumba Diabaté
- Menik Gooneratne as Laxmi
- Darinka Arones as Kusimayu
The first three individuals are key players in Pluribus. Meanwhile, the latter trio appeared sporadically during their first season, and I hope they do so again next time.
New additions to the cast of one of Apple TV’s best shows could be made for season 2, but a lot depends on the story Gilligan and company want to tell. Until firm details are revealed on this front, we can’t say if his set will grow in his next installment.
For what it’s worth, Seehorn told Variety that there are two actors he wants to look into. Pluribus: Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley. Do you see Horn’s ironic reason? So I can “force them to be friends with me.” Make it happen, Gilligan.
Pluribus Season 2 Story Speculation
Full spoilers follow Pluribus‘debut season.
As expected, Pluribus The plot summary for season 2 has not been released yet. However, if you want to know more about the story threads, you’ll have to tackle my spoiler-filled content. Pluribus The explained piece from the Season 1 finale is a good place to start.
Gilligan and company will surely have more to say about season 1, episode 9, as well as the direction the next season’s story will take. However, as I write this guide in mid-December (and therefore before Pluribus‘ season 1 finale and the 2025 holiday break: I can’t include any quotes from the cast and crew about what’s in store for Carol, Zosia, and Manousos.
Once I return in 2026, I’ll update this section with anything interesting I can find.
Will there be a third season of Pluribus?
The short answer is: we don’t know. However, Gilligan has expressed his desire for more deliveries if Pluribus It remains one of the most watched Apple television originals.
Speaking to Variety, Gilligan admitted that he could see it running for four seasons. However, citing one of his other critically acclaimed series, Breaking Bad – which was originally going to end after three, but lasted six – as an example of how those plans can change, he said Pluribus can last longer.
Ultimately, Gilligan added, it would depend on lead star Rhea Seehorn’s desire to continue telling Carol’s story. In his own chat with Variety, Seehorn admitted that he would love for the show to last 10 seasons, before jokingly adding “or whatever I can make Vince do.”
Of course, depending on the show’s popularity and/or production costs, Apple will also be a determining factor in whether more seasons are necessary. For now we know Pluribus Season 2 will be made, but no one knows if a third and fourth will follow suit.
