In accordance with government directives, a deadline of December 30 has been set for the evacuation of all refugee camps. Official notifications have been given in this regard and the Suabi district administration has also issued a notification ordering complete abandonment of the camps on the stipulated date.

According to the notification, the authorities have decided to demolish Barakai (Gohati) Afghan refugee camp and Gandaf refugee camp through an operation on December 31.

Notices issued to Afghan refugees through concerned Station House Officers (SHOs) state that residents of the camps are being informed for the last time to begin practical arrangements for moving their household belongings and businesses in accordance with the administration’s directives. The notices emphasize that timely compliance will help avoid forced actions by the government and ensure a dignified and orderly repatriation of Afghan refugees.
