The future Queen Catherine has received the signal from Prince William and King Charles, who have a firm plan that will set the tone for their respective reigns, while she immerses herself in a personal mission after her battle with cancer.
Princess Kate, who is a loving mother to her three children, is building on her legacy while using what she has learned from motherhood and other studies to meet the challenges that would arise for children in the future.
The royal is passionate about raising children, especially during the first years of their lives, and that is why she founded an organization dedicated to it, the Center for Early Childhood.
As the world adapts to the digitalization of life, Kate expresses concerns about how it affects children, a concern she shares with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle despite their differences and grievances.
Recently, he wrote a moving essay about the study that emphasized the “power of human connection” in a “distracted” world. Royal author Sally Bedell Smith believes the princess is “doing something concrete.”
“She is using the resources of her [Centre for Early Childhood] Foundation to fund studies that will help identify the problems and where the gaps are and figure out how parents can be helped, especially with these digital challenges that overwhelm many parents,” Sally wrote in her Substack.
Harvard University professor Robert Waldinger, who co-wrote the essay with Kate, shared that this is her “signature topic, and she takes it seriously and goes out of her way to make a contribution.”
The initiative not only targets their children, but also those who live across the pond, including Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The Sussexes had launched The Parents’ Network earlier this year to tackle the issue of online harm to young people. Both have remained deeply involved in the issue, not only as advocates and listeners, but ultimately as parents.
In the meantime, Kate continues to strive to provide children with loving environments where they can thrive.
“I thought her speech to business leaders was very compelling and indicative of the depth with which she has studied this topic, which means a lot to her,” Sally shared.
Given Kate’s dedication to the job, she hopes giving voice to a topic considered “unglamorous” will draw attention. Professor Robert suggests it is “huge” and can make an “incredible difference” in generating business with the platform she has.
