The Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that a fresh rain system is expected to enter Pakistan on January 14.
The arrival of this system will cause rain in several regions and is expected to reduce the intensity of fog in the affected areas.
According to the department, dry weather continues in Punjab, including Lahore, while dense fog has engulfed the plains of the province today. Due to extremely low visibility, traffic may have difficulties.
In some areas of the province, visibility has been recorded up to 50 meters due to thick fog.
The minimum temperature recorded in Lahore today was 5°C, with an expected maximum temperature of 17°C.
On the other hand, the current cold wave was expected to persist in Karachi and across Sindh, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department predicting that cold and dry conditions would continue for the next two days.
In Karachi, temperatures dropped to between 8°C and 9°C during this period, with a maximum temperature range of 25°C to 27°C.
The city recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5°C, accompanied by stronger than usual winds.
The weather office also forecast light rain or drizzle in parts of Sindh, including Sanghar, Tharparkar and Umerkot districts, in the afternoon or evening of the next day.
