ISLAMABAD:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said he is determined to follow PTI founder Imran Khan’s instructions “to the letter” and will continue to prepare for a street movement against the government.

In a post on microblogging site

“My leader has tasked me with managing the administrative affairs of my province and at the same time preparing a street movement. God willing, I will follow these instructions to the letter,” he said.

Afridi, who will visit Karachi next week, said Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah invited him for a meeting “in accordance with democratic values and respect for office.”

“I thanked him [Shah] and he said that during the visit I would meet with the people of my province, and if they had any difficulties or problems there, I would certainly meet with them to find a solution,” he added.

He said that on Sunday, January 11 at 4 pm he will pay his respects at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. After spending three days in Lahore, CM Sohail Afridi will now travel to Sindh as the PTI steps up preparations for its protest scheduled for February 8.

The visits are being carried out on instructions from jailed PTI founder Imran Khan, who has tasked the young KP prime minister with mobilizing the public ahead of a major power show marking the second anniversary of next month’s parliamentary elections.

Afridi’s visit to Lahore, the country’s political powerhouse, sparked controversy, with the KP chief minister formally complaining to his Punjab counterpart over what he claimed was inappropriate treatment during the tour.
