DOGE will never ‘cost you a billion dollars’ in the future, says Dogecoin team per PakGazette

PakGazette – The official X account of the team behind the iconic meme cryptocurrency, created and launched by software engineers Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer in 2013, posted a tweet, comparing Dogecoin to the latter, and not in favor of the latter .

The post was inspired by the recent news that the 10,000 Bitcoin spent by Laszlo Hanyecz, who bought pizza with BTC in 2010, would have now become $1 billion.

The post emphasized Dogecoin’s payment utility which they believe surpasses that of the world’s largest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin.

“DOGE will never have cost you a billion dollars”

Dogecoin’s post In 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz spent 10,000 on two Papa John’s pizzas, which were delivered to his door by some random guy on a Bitcoin forum.

However, now, those 10,000 BTC, if not spent on the pizzas, would have cost a billion dollars and perhaps would still have been owned by Hanyecz.

The Dogecoin post says that you can also buy a pizza with DOGE without having to worry that the meme coins you have spent will one day increase to a billion dollars in fiat money. They highlighted that, perhaps unlike Bitcoin, Dogecoin is “a currency designed for everyday transactions, not adult fairy tales.” Dogecoin exists “for everyday people,” the X publication emphasized.

The Doge meme reaches the US Senate

As PakGazette reported, earlier this week, Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus, who is an active user of X and other social media platforms, commented on the recent appearance of a canvas featuring a popular Doge meme on a session of the United States Senate.

That canvas was used during a speech by Senator Joni Ernst (IA) of the Republican Party. He spoke about the tough need to reduce government spending and praised DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency headed by billionaire entrepreneurs Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.

“The Doge is inevitable,” the senator proclaimed during her speech. On the canvas, Doge is outdoing Washington, DC. He urged other politicians to join DOGE and support it.

Billy Markus commented on that and said he was very amused to see “this doge meme IN THE SENATE.”
