- Rockstar Games is currently aiming for a November 19 release date
The highly anticipated grand theft car 6 It may not be released this year after all, as it apparently doesn’t have the “full content” yet.
This comes from Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, who spoke on the latest episode of the Button Mash gaming podcast. “That’s how Rockstar works,” he said in response to a question about the likelihood of the game coming out on its November 19, 2026 release date.
“With dead red [Redemption] 2 […] “They announced it for fall 2017, then it moved to spring 2018. Then it moved again to fall 2018 and it landed there in October of that year, so I wouldn’t be too surprised if that happened again,” he explained.
“This is a big, complicated game, and the last I heard, the content wasn’t complete yet; I mean, people were still finishing things up, still finishing up levels and quests, and seeing what’s going to be included in the game.”
He went on to describe the “typical” game development process, which is divided into distinct phases of “feature complete,” “content complete,” and “bug testing.” He adds that although the lines are sometimes blurry, he hopes they will “get it over with soon” and ideally have enough time to work on fixing bugs.
“It’s really hard to say [if GTA 6 will release on November 19]” he concludes. “It’s really hard to say right now, and I don’t think anyone at Rockstar can tell you with 100 percent certainty that they’ll be out in November.”
Does this mean the game will receive another delay? Schreier offers some hope in his later suggestions that this current release date seems “more real” than previous ones.
Ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see if Rockstar can get everything ready for November.
