- Trump Mobile T1 phone has missed another promised release date
- Previous messages had implied it would launch in late 2025.
- There has been no update on when the device might arrive.
US President Donald Trump has made a big deal of selling a gold-colored Trump-branded “T1 phone” to his loyal supporters, but so far no one has anything to show for it, even though $100 pre-orders have been placed for the mysterious device. Things haven’t gotten any better recently either, as the T1 phone just missed another launch deadline.
When it was announced in June 2025, the device was promised to ship in August or September of that year. Those dates came and went without any phones being shipped to buyers, and then the release date was changed to “later this year” on the product’s website.
That “later this year” line implied that the T1 phone would arrive before the end of 2025. But with 2026 underway and no sign of the phone on the horizon, it appears the device proudly bearing Trump’s name is nowhere to be found.
Visit Trump Mobile’s website today and you’ll see that the phone is still promised for “later this year,” with no indication of which year that actually refers. Since the release date is uncertain, it is unknown how far the product is from release.
Missing in action
Technically, the “later this year” text on the T1 phone’s website could still be correct if it now refers to some time later in 2026. But the fact is that the website had promised a launch date for the phone in 2025, which has now not been met.
According to the Financial Times, Trump Mobile’s customer service team told the outlet that the phone was delayed due to the recent US government shutdown. Writing in December 2025, the Financial Times said that Trump Mobile had informed it that there was a “strong possibility” that the device would not ship by the end of the month, which has now happened.
This is not the first time Trump Mobile has sparked controversy. It has apparently given up on its flagship promise to manufacture the T1 phone in the United States, while its mobile network has posed a host of worrying problems and limitations for those who have tried to use it.
Speaking to PBS, International Data Corp. analyst Francisco Jerónimo was doubtful about the phone’s prospects. “We’ve always been pretty skeptical about this phone,” Jerónimo said. “They’re probably realizing that building a phone is harder than they thought. Let’s see if this comes to life or not.”
With the calendar moving toward a new year and the phone still absent, no one knows when (or if) it will finally land. Even if it does become a reality, it may not look much like the promises that were made when it was first revealed to the world.
