Kelly Clarkson revealed that she has been having a “really special” time with her two children, as they deal with the loss of Brandon Blackstock, the singer’s ex-husband and the children’s father.
During a question and answer session with fans, The Kelly Clarkson Show The host answered a question about her children, daughter River Rose, 11, and son Remington “Remy” Alexander, nine.
“Snuggle”, the american idol The student responded to the question about what thing she does every day that brings her joy. “My kids are 9 and 11. It’s kind of a special, fun stage where they can wipe their butts, but they’re still young enough to love hugs and hugs.”
Hinting at tough times for her family, she added: “There’s been a lot going on for our family recently, so I’ve been letting my kids sleep with me quite a bit.”
“It’s my two dogs, my two kids and me. It’s a lot,” she continued. “It’s been really special though because… the conversations you have during that time are so cute. So that’s probably my favorite time of the day.”
Brandon Blackstock passed away in August 2025, three years after he was diagnosed with melanoma, or skin cancer.
Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson had filed for divorce in 2020, after seven years of marriage. Although its separation from Blackstock ended in 2022.
At the time, a representative of the late talent manager said People Magazine that Brandon “bravely fought cancer for more than three years,” noting that he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.
