- Windscribe Partners with Privacy-First Tools Beyond VPNs
- Separate services are intended to keep your data even more secure, Windscribe said
- Windscribe Pro users can claim partner discounts
Windscribe VPN partners with Kagi, Notesnook, Addy.io and Ente in a new privacy-focused alliance. The goal is to make it easy to create a privacy stack that goes beyond what even the best VPN service can offer.
Instead of bundling everything into a single platform, Windscribe gives you access to completely independent services. The goal is true compartmentalization between multiple services, maximizing user privacy.
Windscribe Pro subscribers can claim partner discounts and offers, creating their own security and productivity suite that works for them. The partnership covers note taking, creating email aliases, and storing photos and videos, among others.
Windscribe is betting that a decentralized set of specialized services can be a more secure and resilient alternative to all-in-one ecosystems.
Windscribe CEO: ‘Privacy is the cornerstone of freedom’
Bundling everything into one means that potential breaches will impact your data even more. When you use different tools with different passwords and 2FA for each, you are more secure than when you rely on one tool for everything.
“Privacy is the cornerstone of freedom and with this partnership we are taking another step towards an Internet where users are in control, not corporations. By supporting independent and specialized services, we ensure that privacy is not just a feature, but a foundation,” said Windscribe CEO Yegor Sak in the official announcement.
A VPN can do a lot of things for you, but it can’t do everything. That’s why we’re excited to announce new partnerships with @KagiHQ, @notesnook, @addy_io, and @enteio to create a privacy-focused alliance. The Wind Bunting Gang
Windscribe has now released a new “Windscribe’s Gang”, which presents its list of partner companies where Pro users can get significant discounts. Each provides a different service and are intended to be complementary: they cannot replace a VPN client, nor do they try to.
Addy.io is an open source anonymous email forwarding tool. Allows you to set a different alias for each service, saving your primary email from spam.
Control D is a DNS service that blocks threats, malicious content, spam and ads at the DNS level. Meanwhile, Ente offers end-to-end encrypted storage for your photos and videos.
Kagi is an ad-free search engine that allows you to escape the overwhelming Google ecosystem. Windscribe’s latest partner is Notesnook, a private, encrypted notes app. It is a simple tool focused on security.
The entire ecosystem consists of independent tools where Windscribe Pro subscribers can get significant discounts right away. These include:
- Addy.io: 25% discount for the first year of Addy.io, applicable to Yearly Lite and Yearly Pro plans
- Control D: 50% discount on the Total Control plan
- Entity: 25% discount on all plans during the first 12 months of your subscription
- Kagi: No discount, but with a 3-month free trial of the Kagi Professional plan
- Notes corner: A 10% lifetime discount on Notesnook Pro annual plan
