- Amazon is expanding its collection of free streaming channels in its new partnership with Roku
- Fire TV users now have access to around 50 free channels from The Roku Channel streaming platform
- This follows the recent update to Amazon’s Fire TV interface, which saw its biggest overhaul in five years.
Hot on the heels of Amazon’s successful showcase at CES 2026, where it unveiled the new ‘lifestyle TV’ Ember Artline, the company is joining forces with Roku to bring you new free streaming content from The Roku Channel, one of our best free streaming services.
Now, Amazon Fire TV users can access a selection of around 50 new free streaming channels, expanding its extensive collection of FAST sports and entertainment programming. In addition to Fire TV’s new Roku channels, Amazon is also adding select channels from Fubo, which is another popular free entertainment and sports streaming service.
One of the biggest advantages of this partnership is that you don’t need subscriptions or additional hardware, such as streaming devices, to enjoy free viewing, which sounds too good to be true. Previously, you could only access Roku’s flagship FAST service on a Roku device, either the Roku Streaming Stick Plus or the Roku Pro Series (2025), but now the company is slowly migrating away from that business model while also updating its own collection of channels. In October 2025, Roku devices in the UK received over 40 new free TV channels.
You can find new FAST content from The Roku Channel in the newly updated Live Guide tab on Fire TV devices, which serves as the home for all of Amazon’s free streaming platforms, including PlutoTV, Tubi, and its own Freevee.
Now that The Roku Channel joins FAST’s Fire TV family, this brings it to a total of 14 free streaming services, meaning there are now a staggering 1,900+ channels on these platforms to stream, encapsulating designated channels for reality TV, classic cinema, food, 24/7 news reporting, and more.
Not only will this move result in broader access to Roku channels for non-Roku device owners, but it’s also a big win for Fire TV itself as it expands its wealth of entertainment options for customers, increasing its value as a streamer.
Amazon recently gave the Fire TV interface a big facelift – the first in five years, I might add – which now lets you pin up to 20 of your favorite streaming services to your home page, making it easier for you to find your new range of free Roku channels.
