Several domestic and international flights delayed and canceled as visibility drops to 50 meters

Dense fog engulfed Karachi and its surrounding areas on Thursday morning, partially disrupting flight operations at Jinnah International Airport, delaying and canceling several domestic and international flights.
Visibility was reduced to just 50 meters at the airport and nearby areas including Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Malir and DHA Phase VIII.
At least 10 round-trip flights were affected by fog. At the same time, several domestic and international flights were rescheduled to late in the day, and some were moved to nighttime hours as low visibility persisted.
Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-302 from Karachi to Lahore, scheduled to take off at 8 a.m., was delayed. Flights operated by foreign airlines from Karachi to Jeddah and Riyadh also faced delays.
The Qatar Airways flight to Karachi, scheduled for 9:00 a.m., was delayed and rescheduled for 4:30 p.m. Flights of a private national airline from Karachi to Lahore and Faisalabad also faced delays.
Flights operated by Flydubai from Karachi to Dubai, Saudi Airlines from Karachi to Jeddah and AirSial from Karachi to Lahore and Peshawar were also among those affected.
The disruption also caused the cancellation of six flights. These included Air China’s CA-946 from Karachi to Beijing, AirAsia
Dense fog was also reported in Jamiatur-Rasheed Ahsanabad and Gulzar-e-Hijri, Scheme 33.
