Prime Video has published the first official image of Sophie Turner as Lara Croft for its next tomb Raider Television program.
Uploaded today (January 15) to the streamer’s various social media accounts, the professional snap shows Turner wearing Croft’s iconic outfit. In fact, from the teal tank top and red-tinted sunglasses to the thick belt and classic double gun holsters strapped to each leg, Turner certainly seems ideal for Croft’s latest live-action reinvention.

The reveal of the image comes five months later Amazon announced that Turner would play Lara Croft in its tomb Raider Television adaptation.
Back then, fans of the action-adventure game franchise were clearly unimpressed by Turner’s hiring. However, in the hours since this image debuted online, many have done a 180 and had only positive things to say. In fact, a thread on r/tombraider is full of users praising Turner’s resemblance to Croft and the seriousness with which Amazon is taking its small-screen adaptation.
It is undoubtedly a marked change in tone with respect to tomb Raider devotees about the series developed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. And, with Amazon confirming that cameras have started rolling on the new Prime Video show, the countdown has officially begun for its eventual release on one of the world’s best streaming services.
Who else is part of the cast of the Tomb Raider TV show? And when will it be released?
At this time, this last question cannot be answered. Amazon has indicated when tomb Raider The TV show will see the light of day but, with principal photography already underway, we can’t rule out a release in mid-to-late 2026.
As for the other query, Amazon confirmed that four famous faces would star alongside Turner on January 6.
