- Spotify is introducing another price increase for members in the US, Estonia and Latvia coming in February.
- Individual Premium plans will increase from $11.99 to $12.99
- This marks the third price increase for Spotify in three years, following its last price change in July 2024.
Another price increase is coming for Spotify Premium members, and it’s coming sooner than you think: February to be exact.
Users in the US, Latvia and Estonia will be the first regions affected by the platform’s upcoming price increase, and it’s a kick in the teeth, especially if you’ve just signed up for the music streaming service.
This marks the third price increase since 2023, and members in the US will now have to pay $13 per month starting their next billing date, while updated prices for Estonia and Latvia can be found on Spotify’s sign-up page.
The last time Spotify raised its rates in the US was in July 2024, and its Premium tier increased from $10.99 to $11.99 per month.
When the latest pricing change takes effect, individual premium rates will increase from $11.99 to $12.99 per month, but this isn’t the only tier affected. In addition to the standard Premium tier, Duo Premium will increase by $2, from $16.99 to $18.99, as will the Family plan ($19.99 to $21.99). Even Spotify’s cheapest student tier will get a price increase, rising from $5.99 to $6.99.
Are we surprised that another price increase is coming? Not at all. In November 2025, we spotted predictions that another price increase would hit US Premium subscribers in early 2026 thanks to a report from the Financial Times ($/£). At the time we were sure this was going to happen (and it does), but we had no idea what tiers would be affected or how much their new monthly rates would be.
So why is Spotify raising its prices again? Users attribute it to one thing in particular, Spotify Lossless, which is not only one of Spotify’s most recent updates, but its biggest and most ambitious yet. In addition to Lossless, Spotify has implemented a number of other tools to increase the reach of its user experience, but that comes with higher operating costs.
We’ve just entered 2026 and there’s no doubt that Spotify has even more surprises up its sleeve this year (it recently test-launched the new Requested Playlist feature in New Zealand). How long will it be before the streamer increases prices for users in other regions?
