The Senate on Friday passed the Railway Transfer (Amendment) Bill, 2025 with certain amendments proposed by Senator Farooq H Naek.
Railway Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi pushed the bill to amend the Railway Transfer Order, 1962. [The Transfer of Railways (Amendment) Bill, 2025]as reported by the Permanent Commission of the Chamber.
Farooq H Naek proposed certain amendments to the bill which were adopted by the House.
The statement of objects and reasons of the bill says that certain amendments have been proposed in the Railway Transfer Order, 1962 (PO No. 33 of 1962) through the Railway Transfer (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025 (X of 2025), which is presented as a bill.
