LAHORE:
Bushra Bibi’s daughter approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking permission to meet her mother, who is currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail.
Mubashra Khawar Maneka filed the petition through Lahore High Court Bar Association president Asif Naswana. The Punjab government, Adiala jail superintendent and other relevant authorities have been sued in the case.
In her petition, the petitioner stated that Bushra Bibi is currently detained in Adiala Jail and that she is her biological daughter. He maintained that, under jail rules, he has a legal right to reunite with his mother.
The petition further stated that as per the prescribed schedule, Tuesdays are designated for family visits in jail. However, despite repeated attempts, the superintendent of Adiala jail has allegedly denied him permission to meet his mother.
The petitioner asked the court to direct the superintendent of Adiala jail to arrange her immediate meeting with Bushra Bibi.
