CDF pays tribute to police martyrs and calls for stronger partnerships in law enforcement

Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Tuesday visited the National Police Academy in Islamabad where he met officers of the Pakistan Police Service.

Upon arrival, Field Marshal Munir was received by the commander of the National Police Academy and a police contingent presented him with a guard of honor. He laid a wreath at the Police Martyrs Memorial and offered Fateha, paying his respects to police officers who had lost their lives in the line of duty while working to maintain peace, uphold the rule of law and ensure public safety.

He acknowledged the sacrifices made by police personnel in tackling terrorism, crime and internal security challenges.

During the visit, the field marshal received information about the High Impact Elite Law Enforcement Development School and other police training programs focused on improving capability and modernizing the force. He also held discussions with cadet Deputy Superintendents of Police (ASP), where he reiterated the role of police as the first line of defense in protecting life, property and dignity of citizens.

In a meeting with Inspector General of Police (IGP), Additional IGPs and senior police officials, Field Marshal Munir emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration, modern policing techniques and building public confidence in law enforcement. He underlined the need for a strong, professional and community-focused police force to ensure internal security and uphold the rule of law.

Senior police leaders, in turn, reaffirmed their commitment to improving police standards, increasing professional capacity and carrying out the institutional reforms necessary to address current security challenges.
