I saw dozens of new robot vacuums at CES 2026, and many of them had particularly eye-catching features. There was a robot with real legs to go up and down stairs and uneven terrain. There was a robot vacuum cleaner that could become a manual vacuum cleaner and vice versa. There was even a robovac that could apparently help you find your lost keys. And that’s on top of stair-climbing robovacs and this robot with an arm that can reach detailed tools, both debuted at IFA in September 2025.
While all of those things are certainly impressive, most are not yet ready for commercialization and some (dare I say it) could ultimately fall into the “gimmick” category. In terms of robots I’d really like to have in my home, two new models stood out from the crowd.
Roborock Saros 20
The Saros 20 is the successor to the very popular Saros 10R. It maintains everything we loved about that previous version, but introduces a couple of important updates that help level it up. The main one is an updated ‘AdaptiLift’ system. This is essentially all the technology surrounding the little feet that can lift the robot off the ground.
The Saros 20 will be able to overcome even higher room thresholds than its predecessor. I saw him do a huge double step in the Roborock demo area at CES, and although he suffered a small bump, it was still impressive to see. If you have high room thresholds in your home, this upgrade could make all the difference.
There’s a second trick related to the AdaptiLift feature: you can now hold the robot at a range of preset heights. This means it can float at just the right height over a thick carpet or mat, cleaning it efficiently without getting stuck.
Beyond that, there are all the things that made the Saros 10R a great all-rounder. There are two rotating mop pads, one of which can move to the side to reach the edges of the rooms. The suction specs are strong and there’s the same anti-tangle roller that’s so successful on other Roborock robots I’ve tested. Additionally, you would expect an intuitive app and overall excellent reliability and ease of use. Of all the Roborock robots released at CES, the Saros 20 is the one to watch.
Dreame X60
Dreame is another of my favorite robot vacuum brands and consistently delivers reliable, effective, and easy-to-use robots. Like Roborock, it showed off a few different models at CES, but the one that will be most practical for most people is the X60.
This is the model built on the basis of the exceptional Dreame X50 and, again, there are some welcome tweaks and changes. The key update is that this robot has been on a diet: it’s significantly shallower than its predecessor, and in fact, it might well be the slimmest robot vacuum on the market right now (it’s about the same height as the previous Saros 20).
If you have a low couch, chances are this robot can venture under it and remove all the dust lint that has accumulated since the last time you bothered to lift the couch and clean underneath.
Another major update here is that the cleaning station now uses hotter water to wash the mop pads. Much hotter. In fact, boiling. The idea is that it will remove grease and grime so your mop pads will be as good as new when the robovac ventures out for another clean.
As with the Roborock Saros 20, there’s also a retractable LiDAR disc (which helps keep the overall height down) and mini legs for jumping over high room thresholds.
Prices and availability
Both Roborock and Dreame are widely available in several countries, including the US, UK, and Australia, but they don’t all arrive at the same time.
At the time of writing, the Saros 20 is listed on Roborock’s global site, but is not available for pre-order or purchase.
The X60 Max Ultra Complete is available for pre-order in the US at dreametech.com, $1,359.99 with shipping starting February 10. At list price, it costs $1,699.99 (equivalent to around £1,260 / AU$2,525), but it’s currently discounted to $340, with several accessories included.
We will test both models and send you full reviews as soon as possible. In the meantime, I’ve spotted huge discounts on the older (but still rare) version of each bot, which are worth checking out…
