Console and PC gaming are undergoing changes in more ways than one, especially with Valve’s console PC, the Steam Machine, on the horizon, and hardware prices skyrocketing due to high memory demands. However, one modder has introduced a gameplay setting that tops it all.
A YouTube content creator, Xiao Ningzi (小宁子 XNZ), has created a three-in-one gaming console with a PS5, Xbox Series He called it ‘Ningtendo PXbox 5’. Basically, it’s designed to make switching between the three systems easy, as they all run inside a chassis similar to the PS5.
However, the modification is not simple. Matching motherboards for each system is difficult enough, but that also includes designing an entirely new case, an arduous process for anyone outside of a manufacturing warehouse.
Since the Switch 2 is a portable device, Ningzi made sure it was still easily removable (as you’ll see in the video below), and switching between each system takes no more than five seconds.
Look
I think it goes without saying that a DIY console, as such, never will see the light of day as an official project of the big three: Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. However, it is quite surreal to see a passion project come to life.
The game library available on a mega console, as such, is arguably greater than what can be found on a gaming PC, in terms of value over quantity, with access to games that may never be officially ported to the PC.
Of course, each console would still need to be purchased to facilitate this DIY project. The appeal here, however, is the concept of buying a three-in-one console and having all the PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo exclusives on one system, but we don’t live in a perfect world so this won’t happen.
Analysis: Steam Machine is the closest system we’ll ever get to this
Valve’s Steam Machine is scheduled for release in early 2026, and consumers are holding their breath over what its potential price could be. While we’ll never see this Ningtendo PXbox 5 become a reality for most consumers, Valve’s upcoming system is the closest we’ll get to it.
The Steam Machine is a gaming PC after all, but it’s clearly aimed at the console gaming market with its mini-PC design. With the thousands of indie PC games available, along with Xbox titles and PlayStation exclusives, the Steam Machine may be the best platform for console gamers when it launches.
There’s also no need to mention the emulation capabilities of Nintendo games (which I’m in no way defending) on PC, and that would bring the Steam Machine’s game library closer to that of this mega DIY project console. Hopefully its price is within an affordable range.

The best game consoles.
