The Beauty (Hulu/Disney+)
Look
After the 0% failure on Rotten Tomatoes that was everything is fairRyan Murphy is back to give us another chance. the beauty – and I mean that literally. Two FBI agents (played by Evan Peters and Rebecca Hall) travel across Europe to unravel the mysterious deaths of a group of supermodels.
None of them seem to know each other, but they all have the same symptoms: a virus that burns alive from the inside and explodes spontaneously upon death. Oh, did I mention that said virus is sexually transmitted?
It’s as fun as it sounds and that’s right after the first two episodes were released this week (read my review of The Beauty for more on what to expect). I feel it is important to keep in mind the wise words of RuPaul’s Drag Race star Bianca Del Rio: “beauty fades, foolishness is forever.” – Jasmine Valentine, entertainment reporter
Steal (Prime Video)
Look
What would you do if you worked a mundane, average-paying financial job in the city’s banking district, only to discover that when you arrived at the office, a terrifying team of armed strangers took you hostage? Unfortunately for Zara (Sophie Turner), that’s exactly her Monday morning in the new Prime Video drama. Steal.
The first episode of the Amazon TV Original is a masterclass in storytelling, as Zara keeps some pretty nasty secrets. Homeland and Line of duty Fans will also be pleased with a cameo from Anna Maxwell Martin, who plays an MI5 agent in exactly the same way I imagine Julia would handle a national crisis.
Steal is easily one of the strongest thrillers on offer this month – read my Steal check to find out why.. – joint venture
Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nothing (Hulu/Disney+)
Look
Honey, We Were Born to Ruuuuun… on Hulu and Disney+ this weekend for the streaming debut of this Bruce Springsteen biopic.
the bearJeremy Allen White’s Jeremy Allen White stars as the legendary musician known as ‘The Boss,’ and the film chronicles Springsteen’s personal and professional life as he works on the seminal 1982 album, ‘Nebraska.’ Armed with solid performances from White and Jeremy Strong, it’s one that fans of the American rocker will enjoy immensely. Everyone else? Considering its mixed reception from critics and the general public, probably not so much. – T.P.
Queer Eye season 10 (Netflix)
Look
Our fab five returns to Netflix for the last time and if I’m being completely honest, strange eye Maybe season 10 is worth watching for the off-screen drama. In fact, if you’ve watched the press tour unfold recently, you’ll notice that Karamo pulled out of all interviews at the last minute, fueling rumors of alleged behind-the-scenes disagreements.
But what do the real episodes have in store for us? The gang takes on the residents of Washington DC in its final five episodes, “spoiling them and giving them the tools to continue growing even after the Fab Five return beyond the Beltway,” as Netflix puts it. I think the tissues are ready. – joint venture
The Crushing Machine (HBO Max)
Look
Dwayne Johnson might be known for playing a scorpion king and a Hawaiian demigod, but it’s his transformative role as mixed martial arts and UFC champion Mark Kerr in Benny Safdie. The crushing machine that turned heads in what ended up being a box office bomb for star A.
The former wrestler turned actor received his first Golden Globe nomination for his unrecognizable performance in the biopic A24. While neither he nor his co-star Emily Blunt took home a trophy, the recognition alone marks a major change in Johnson’s career.
It’s a less blockbuster action and a more forceful emotional drama, playing with the contrast between Kerr’s gentle off-screen behavior and the brutality of the fight sequences, making it an ideal watch to watch on HBO Max. – Amelia Schwanke, Senior Entertainment Editor
God’s Drops season 2 (Apple TV)
Look
You’ll want to forget about the dry month of January, because Apple TV’s hit wine drama is back, with even more mystery harvests and family drama than its first season.
Drops of God Season 2 only premiered with one episode, but Apple TV Original wastes no time setting up a new quest to discover where the best wine in the world is made. The challenge brings together the estranged daughter and former protégé of renowned wine critic Alexandre Léger for one last test of the family legacy.
The result is a heady mix of psychological and generational drama, with hints of intrigue and armchair travel, best enjoyed with an Apple TV subscription. – AS

Look
Tonight (January 23) at 5 pm PT / 8 pm ET, famous climber Alex Honnold takes over Netflix with a live event where he will attempt to scale the outside of what was once the world’s tallest building, also known as Taipei 101 in Taiwan.
In true Honnold style, you will tackle the 1,667-foot climb without ropes. As if the stakes weren’t high enough, the entire feat will be broadcast live around the world for two hours. Best known for climbing El Capitan in the documentary. Free soloHonnold is one of the world’s leading free climbers, but that won’t stop my palms from sweating. – AS
