DERA ISMAIL KHAN/RAWALPINDI:
Security forces carried out intelligence-based operations in Panjgur district of Balochistan and Kurram district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), killing six terrorists, including three affiliated with Indian proxy Fitna al-Hindustan.
According to a press release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation in Panjgur was carried out on the basis of reported information about the presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group.
“During the conduct of the operation, its own forces effectively attacked the location of the terrorists, and after an intense exchange of fire, three Indian-sponsored terrorists were sent to hell,” the new ISPR statement said.
Among the dead terrorists, he said, were local area terrorist commander Farooq alias Soro, terrorist Adeel and terrorist Waseem. “Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who were still actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area,” he added.
“Remediation operations are being carried out to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists found in the area. The relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan, by Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue in full swing to eliminate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country,” he further said.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces for the successful operation against Fitna-e-Hindustan terrorists in Panjgur. In separate statements, they said the entire nation supported the military in the war against terrorism.
President Zardari said operations against Fitna-e-Hindustan were indispensable for national security. Prime Minister Shehbaz said that under the vision of ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’, security forces were achieving significant successes against terrorism.
Meanwhile, in Central Kurram, forces carried out an operation after receiving information about the presence of Kharijis, a term used to refer to terrorists belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). During the operation there was an intense exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists. As a result of the effective action, three terrorists died.
On the other hand, in Barmal tehsil of Lower South Waziristan district, unknown terrorists dropped a bomb from a quadcopter on the house of PTM coordinator Shah Hussain Pashtin. However, no loss of life or property was reported. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
