ISLAMABAD:

President Asif Ali Zardari will pay an official visit to the United Arab Emirates from January 26 to 29, accompanied by a high-level delegation, Pakistan’s presidency announced on Monday.

During the visit, the president is scheduled to meet with UAE leaders to review bilateral relations, focusing on trade and economic cooperation, defense and security, and people-to-people ties.

The discussions will also cover regional and international issues of mutual interest, according to the statement.

The visit follows the UAE President’s recent trip to Pakistan and reflects the close ties between the two countries, he added, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation in multiple sectors.

On December 27, 2025, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, paid an official visit to Pakistan, marking his first official visit in his capacity as President.

During the visit, he held talks with Pakistani leaders on strengthening bilateral cooperation in key areas including trade, investment and security.

The visit, made at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, came at a time when Pakistan’s relations with the Gulf States have witnessed renewed momentum, driven by expanded cooperation in defence, investment, energy and regional diplomacy.
