Android updates are meant to make your phone better, but in the case of the latest update to the Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro series, it has apparently done the opposite for many users.
The January 2026 update rolled out to Pixel devices last week, bringing with it bug fixes, security patches, and improved GPU performance. But several Pixel 10 series owners report that it has also broken their Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and, in some cases, the camera as well.
9to5Google has detected numerous threads on Reddit and on Google’s own forums with complaints about these problems. So while it’s unclear exactly how widespread this is, it’s not limited to one or two users, with one Reddit poster noting that you’re “certainly not the only one” in response to another victim of this bug.
And while it appears to be primarily the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Google Pixel 10 Pro XL models that are affected, other Pixel devices don’t seem entirely immune; For example, a Google Pixel 8 Pro owner claims that his Wi-Fi had also broken.
There are no practical solutions
So what can you do? Well, if you somehow haven’t downloaded this update yet, we suggest you wait, regardless of which Pixel model you have, but especially if you have a Pixel 10 series device.
If you have already downloaded this update and are experiencing these issues, then we have no good news. Users report that they have tried rebooting, booting into safe mode, resetting network settings, and even factory resetting their phones, all without success.
One user reported that disabling Google Play services and the Fitbit app fixed their problems, but if you disable the former, you won’t be able to access the Google Play Store and many of the Google apps won’t work properly either, so this isn’t a great solution.
The real solution is probably to simply wait until Google rolls out a fix, but it’s unclear how soon that will be. We’ve reached out to Google for comment and will update this article if we hear back.
