King Charles took care of some important matters just as he returned to the United Kingdom after his stay in Scotland with Queen Camilla.
While Charles had briefly returned to London while Prince Harry was still in town for his lawsuit against the publisher of the Daily Mail, the two did not meet.
The King and Queen arrived at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday to mark the poignant Holocaust Memorial Day, after which the two went their separate ways to attend to their individual duties.
Charles has always been passionate about environmental issues and had instilled those values in both his son, Prince William, and Prince Harry. Despite their family tensions, the three have pursued the cause in their own way.
Following the success of Prince William’s Earthshot Prize and his collaboration with many community charities in Brazil last year, the King appears to be stepping up his own efforts for the cause of nations requiring environmental protection.
Charles held a private audience with the President of Guyana, Dr. Irfaan Ali, at Buckingham Palace. During the meeting, climate action and their ongoing collaborations on the topic were discussed.
The President issued a statement after the meeting: “Today I met with His Majesty King Charles III at Buckingham Palace, where we engaged in discussions about our ongoing collaborations in the areas of environmental protection, biodiversity and climate action.”
Last year, Prince William made an ambitious collaboration by partnering with several organizations to improve the protection of indigenous peoples and nature protectors throughout the Brazilian Amazon. In addition, Duchess Sofia also made a trip to South America for a similar purpose.
The King may be planning something similar for Guyana.
