wonder manThe showrunner has addressed whether the new Marvel TV series sets up events for the future. Spider-Man: New Day.
Before wonder man premiered on Disney+, I sat down with Andrew Guest to talk about the comic book giant’s latest television offering. And, since Guest co-created the show alongside Destin Daniel Cretton, who is also the director of Spider-Man’s next big-screen adventure, I had to find out if wonder man establishes story threads that are part of new dayThe general narrative.
Full spoilers follow immediately. for wonder man. Possible spoilers are also discussed. for spider man 4.
Considering that Spidey cannot appear in live-action shows set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) without permission from Sony rights holders, it was almost impossible for him to make an unexpected cameo in wonder man. And, with all eight episodes of the Marvel TV show available in their entirety on release day (January 27/28), we can confirm that Tom Holland’s wall-crawler does not appear in wonder man.
However, there are signs that the MCU projects share some connective tissue, with the main link being the one that unites the Marvel Phase 6 TV show and spider man 4 together being the Department of Damage Control (DoDC).
Remember, the DoDC first appeared in an MCU production in 2017. Spider-Man: Homecoming. The group was briefly in 2021. Spider-Man: No Way Homealso, with Agent Cleary, who also appears in wonder maninterrogating Parker and his friends following that ending 2019 Spider-Man: Far From Home.
The DoDC doesn’t seem to be done monitoring Spider-Man either. Leaked videos of spider man 4 which were filmed in late 2025 appear to show the titular hero evading DoDC agents during a chase sequence and, later, Spider-Man fleeing from armed DoDC agents on a rooftop.
With wonder man Continuing with the US agency’s search and/or imprisonment of enhanced beings it deems a threat to public safety, it is clear that these projects are closely linked due to the DoDC’s involvement in their respective stories. However, although Guest seemed to suggest that this might be the case, he did not directly confirm that the events described in wonder man will impact the story told in new day.

“I mean, that’s a possibility,” Guest responded when I asked if the two projects developed by Cretton were connected. “I haven’t seen any material for spider man 4 [but] I know Destin was a fan of the work we did on wonder manso it’s natural to think that some of those ideas might have been in his head when he and the writer started working on the script for spider man 4.
“I think there’s a distinct possibility that the D.C. Department could find its way into this,” he continued. “You know, they were also in spider man 3So it makes sense, but we’ll have to wait and see. [how connected these productions might be]”.
