Tim Burton breaks silence on the loss of his former friend Catherine O’Hara

Tim Burton shared an emotional message after Catherine O’Hara passed away at the age of 71, sharing a photo of them from the set of Beetle juice Beetle juice.

The 67-year-old filmmaker took to Instagram on Friday, January 30, writing, “Catherine, I love you. This picture shows how much light you gave us all.”

The image showed the late actress in costume in the sequel to the 2024 film alongside Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega.

“You were a special part of my life and after my life,” Burton wrote.

Previously speaking about her friendship with Burton, O’Hara shared in an interview that he took her to meet her husband, Bo Welch.

“I met my husband in beetle juice. “He designed the sets and is a production designer, and Tim really brought us up to speed,” he said.
