Lawyers announced a total strike on February 8. Advocates, their secretaries and support staff will observe a complete lockdown, offices will remain closed and vehicles will not be removed. The leaders declared that protests would be held on the streets, in court premises and at major intersections as part of a broader fight for systemic change, adding that the legal fraternity would no longer remain silent.

They also demanded that Imran Khan be shifted from prison to hospital for medical treatment and the cases against him be fixed for hearing.
