Bill Gates’ ex-wife Melinda French Gates has broken her silence after the Microsoft founder’s name appeared in files in the investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
speaking in The NPR Wild Card On the Tuesday, February 3, 2026 podcast, Melinda said it’s very difficult for her when those details come to light, adding, “It brings back memories of very, very painful times in my marriage.”
She said: “Any questions left out there about what. It’s up to those people and even my husband to answer them. They should answer those things, not me.”
The name of the American technology billionaire appeared in the latest Epstein files published by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The emails alleged that Bill Gates contracted a sexually transmitted infection (STI) after alleged physical contact with Russian girls on Epstein Island.
However, the 70-year-old has denied the allegations, calling them “absolutely absurd and completely false.”
Bill Gates’ spokesman said: “The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein’s frustration at not having an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to to set him up and defame him.”
In addition to Bill Gates, several other influential names have appeared in the recently released 3 million Epstein files.
