ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court on Monday acquitted former federal minister Anwar Saifullah in a case related to alleged illegal recruitment in Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), after accepting his review petition and quashing his conviction.

The court ruled that the prosecution had not proven the accusations against the former minister.

The case was heard by a three-member bench headed by Justice Hashim Khan Kakar. It is worth noting that the trial court sentenced the former minister to one year in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 5 million.
